Taking My Responsibilities Seriously

So far what I've learned here at YMP is how to take my responsibilities more seriously. While in school, although I work hard when doing my work, I feel as though I was just getting by. Now that I'm here, my number-one priorities are to get what needs to be done, along with the fun that comes with it. Because YMP is a lot of fun to be a part of, I enjoy doing what I do here.
     
I am grateful for the people I have met and the friends that I made. I sometimes find myself shutting out people, mainly because I feel uncomfortable in some places. YMP has a relaxed environment, the people here are very friendly and open-minded, and there is nothing to stress over while I'm here. I love meeting new people, because it's like starting over fresh. Also, journalism was meant to be my Plan B if my writing career did not work out. I value the skills the program provides me for the future.
 
One thing that I can’t wait to do at YMP is for our website and YouTube page to get started. This is something we've been working really hard at, here at YMP. I have so many ideas to contribute to it. I can’t wait to see the finished product.
